Terms of use: It is very simple. These wallpaper/desktop images are for personal desktop background useage only. They are all © Mike Hollingshead/Extremeinstability.com. They aren't to be sold or distributed in any fashion. If you want something on the site for publication e-mail me. Size/Quality/Copyright Notice: They are all 1024x1280. They are fairly high quality jpegs, but they have been compressed. They are cropped in to fit the monitor sizes. The original files are a bit wider. I've noticed LCD monitors love to overcontrast images(I'm not using an LCD). I viewed them on both of my parent's LCD monitors and they didn't look nearly as good. I had to drop the contrast on both and then they looked much smoother. I placed the copyright thing on the bottom right so it should dissapear behind the taskbar. I hope they are enjoyed. I've been asked about doing higher res files for a long tmie and am now deciding to try it. How to: To get the image onto your desktop do the following. Click on an image below so that it loads(might want to right click on the image and have it open in a new window). Once the image loads right click on it and for Internet Explorer click on "set as background"....if using Mozilla Firefox right click on it and scroll down to "set as desktop background". You can also right click on it and save it to a folder on your harddrive. Then simply right click on your desktop screen and then click "properties", then click on the "desktop" tab and then "browse". Find it in the folder you saved it to and click it. Under the "position" option I would just chose "stretch". If you are already set at 1024x1280 it will already fit fine. Then just hit "apply" and then "ok". |

Images too dark or too bright? Use the greyscale to adjust your monitor. You should set the contrast at 100% and then adjust the brightness until you can see each step of grey from black to white. You may need to back the contrast off some, especially with an LCD. When finished you should be able to see each shade all the way to the white end and the black end. White should also be pure white as should black be black. |
